Surgical Green ‘s Deaver Retractor Standard is one of the favorite devices within the abdominal and chest surgery areas. It was named after the famous American surgeon John Blair Deaver. The retractor has a very unique design and comes in different models. Also, all of them provide a wide range of surgical benefits.
Firstly, the retractor is entirely flat and the handle immediately turns into a deep curved blade. As a result, the whole instrument resembles a question mark. Moreover, this particular shape of Deaver Retractor Standard allows surgeons to hold heavy tissues, such as the liver, stomach and kidneys, away from the surgical field.
In addition, the flat handle has a bottom hook. Surgeons and assistants can use this hook for resting their fingers and avoid fatigue during lengthy procedures.
